How You Can Get Involved
There are many ways you can get involved with Choko ~ it’s about so much more than raising money!
Writing letters/sending photographs ~ a key part of the project is to exchange communication on lifestyles. All communication is routed through Choko, so please send your letters etc. to Choko, c/o 31 Station Road, Cholsey, Wallingford, Oxon OX10 9PT.
Sponsoring a child ~ through World Vision you can make a regular contribution to the work they do in Kodumela and assist an individual child and their family at the same time. Sponsorship costs £18 a month and you can specifically request a child in Kodumela.
Holding an event ~ if you or a group you belong to would like to organise an event to raise funds for Choko, please do so. Let us know if you would like our help with publicity and so on!
Helping at Choko events ~ we have stalls at many of the regular events in Cholsey throughout the year and we help organise specific fundraisers with other groups. We always need extra pairs of helping hands!
Inviting us
to speak to your local group ~ if you think a talk about our project would interest a group you
belong to, please let us know and we will do our best to come and speak.
Shopping with a difference ~ alternative gifts are becoming increasingly popular so if you would like to gift a nanny goat to your granny or a mosquito net to your mother, we can make sure your gift goes to Kodumela. See our own Alternative Gift Catalogue or the World Vision Alternative Gift Catalogue.
Joining a visit ~ planning is well under way for the second visit to Kodumela in April 2009 (for a number of reasons all visits must be officially organised through World Vision). If you are interested in coming along, call Bev Butler on 01491 651490.
